Rio has had weeks of birthday celebration, but Tuesday 4/22 was his actual birthday. Alex was out of town so I tried to make it extra special in the morning before school. Rio woke up to a train table in his room and then we had waffles with whip cream and strawberries! YUM.
At school he got a birthday crown and a dance party. That evening we had some friends over for dinner and ice-cream. Then the waiting began for the weekend when we had a shared birthday party with Rio's buddy, Bennie, at the Mountain Top Museum. It was a hit. I continued my tradition of making a homemade cake which also went over well.
As a three year old Rio is really a "big, little boy" as we call him. There is no baby left (except when he pretends to be a baby:) He really is a sweet boy who likes to play hard. He is very expressive with his words and mannerisms. Having a conversation with him is a lot of fun. He is counting and recognizing his letters and spelling his name. He is amazing!
