It was so good to get back to my roots, Newfound Lake. We missed last summer due to Arbor's impending arrival. But it is always worth the wait! The water was crystal clear, the trees green as ever, and Nana and Paus garden bountiful (mostly with raspberries). I can't believe I have been going to this lake for 25 years now.
I have such wonderful memories of my summers there and I am so happy the boys will build there own each summer. And whats more special is my childhood "lake friends" are now brining their children as well! Rio and Arbor will have built in summer friends, Ivory and Franny!
Rio swam every day, many times a day. He took to the water like white on rice. He still is not comfortable going deep, but he was swimming under water and exploring the lake ecosystem. Arbor likes to splash in the "waves". We did a little boating, but mostly just watched the boys enjoy!
Great Grandma Peterson made the trip up from DC and the Clarks came from Pennsylvania for the last few days. Cousin Logan and Rio were buddies immediately, swimming and digging.
And Uncle Ian spent some qt with the boys.
I couldn't have asked for a better 10 days (the boys travelled exceptionally well, even when it was just me and them to get there!) Next Summer can't come quick enough!
