Rio was so caught up in a dance party at school that he was spinning so fast (which he is great at) but must have lost his balance and went cheek first into a table edge. The staff felt terrible and so did we. But completely understood, we know our Rio and this will be the first of many, many bruises. We were thankful nothing was broken and he didn't know how bad it looked-and of course it got worse with time. Today a week later the bruise has taken on all colors of the rainbow.
And to add to the problem, Rio decided during "nap time" to untwist the bottle of arnica lotion we have been applying mulitple times a day to add an extra layer of healing. Unfortunately we did not know if he ate any:( First call to poison control, where we were told to watch him and feed him protein because there was a significant amount of alcohol in the lotion. Luckily no issues.
BUT THIS INJURY DID NOT STOP RIO FROM DANCING.....lots of fun at a local concert the other night! I just got a lot of looks from people:) The event was sponsored by our childcare center, so I was surrounded by people who knew the "real story";)
